Forged Postal Money Orders

Just a little snippit from newsletter I got today ...

INSPECTORS ON THE TRAIL OF INTERNATIONAL FORGERS. The New York Times reports that more than 3,700 counterfeit postal money orders were intercepted from October to December, exceeding the total for the previous 12 months, according to the Postal Inspection Service. The article said most of the forgeries originated in Nigeria, Ghana and Eastern Europe and 160 arrests have been made in the U.S. The article said postal inspectors are warning financial institutions to be vigilant and are working to intercept packages containing bogus money orders as they enter the country.
