Should PCGS keep slabbing the micro O silver dollars?

There is a presedent for slabbing contemporary counterfeits that actually circulated as money. Look at the Machin Mills coins and the Jefferson Head large cents. PCGS could add a designation to the slab label such as "Contemporary Private Issue". The fact that they are so good as to fool the numismatic community for over a centuray and they have a higher silver content that the government issued dollars put them in a special category unlike the crap coming out of asia these days.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

  • I agree but i think it's better suited for ANACS or SEGS.

I wish NGC or ANACS would slab countermarked, and also slab counterfeit US. For example, there is a book CONTEMPORARY COUNTERFEIT CAPPED BUST HALF DOLLARS and there have been many additions to it. I would like to have my Bust counterfeits graded with the variety designated. I also have some countermarked US that I would like graded with a countermark designation. Any coins I have worth over $50 I would like in slabs.

As to this thread question, yes I would like to see continued slabbing of the micro O silver dollars with them given the "counterfeit" designation.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
