Anyone know what's going on with mbcoins?

He got NARU'ed on ebay but is only showing a few recent negs.

    Ditto.
  • Mikes a great guy. I won an auction and he sent the coin even before I sent him the check!

I'd say hes a top notch seller.

    I wonder what happened?

  • Maybe ebay got tired of him selling only certified coins graded by top TPG's.

Very good seller with incredible photos. Hope he comes back.
  • maybe he forgot to pay fees or his credit got maxed before the fees - this is one thing that ebay will instantly NARU you over.... screw people over multiple times selling crap as gold and ebay doesn't care, but forget to give them thier cut......

That was my thought also. Happened to glance at my feedback the other day, and was suprised to see one seller had been naru'ed, and that it was him.

Probably an eBay fee issue. Maybe forgot to update credit card info or some other silly thing. You can rip newbies selling hyped junk slabs and eBay loves you. Miss a fee payment, and you're toast.

That almost happened to me myself. EBay does a lousy job of reminding people of this. I've never bought from mbcoins before but I've seen his stuff. He sells nice coins.

It angers me to see slimeballs selling junk while mbcoins is NARU'd. image
  • I had mbcoins on my fav sellers list, so I was wondering the same...

Perhaps he was running a fraud (based on this guy's feedback: "Never paid! Then caught him running his own bids up! ASK ME warlok@adelphia.net"), ebay determined it to be true, and NARU'ed the guy? All it takes is one instance of fraud and you're out, no?

I hope he comes back! His inventory is really fun to look through.... image

I've never had a problem with him... heck, he even put up with TWO checks getting lost in the mail over a 2 month period while I was trying to pay him for an auction. I've sold to him, too, with no problems.

I had mbcoins on my favorite sellers list also.

I have done a couple of transactions with him in the past and never had a hint of a problem.

Seemed like a top notch ebayer to me.

I hope that it is just an easy problem fixed.

There's something weird going on here. Many of us have done business with Mike and never had a problem. Looking at those four recent negs, at least three are from morons and undeserved. That fourth about bidding his own stuff is a puzzler, though. I really can't see him doing that.

Looks like he had a recent mini neg-fest from this user from Venezuela with 89.3% feedback.

He was on my list of fav sellers too. Bought many coins from him. Fees, it happened to me about two years ago from an out of date debit card. He will be back I hope.

Same ol' stuff on eBay. The slimeballs are allowed to sell away, but good guys like Mike get the boot.
  • I also bought a number of coins from mbcoins and had no complaints (except no paypal). I received the following message from "warlok" a few days before the NARU:

    Dear ematsuok,

3965253477, 3966336970, 3966337804, 3966345154, 3966352225, 3969195444 These are the last 6 auctions that mbcoins used his other name palma386 to bid the price up on & he has not denied it. I caught him dead in the wrong! (feedback for fake palma386 from mbcoins). I reported it to ebay. I told him he should refund the people that had to pay more because of his greed and he refuses. Has stooped very low now talking about my mother etc. He has gotten me to get very vulgar right back at him! I will not be bullied into letting his scam go on. He used 'buy it now" to get my personal contact info and rang my phone for several days. He had no intentions of paying for it. He just wanted my phone number. All started when I questioned his shipping prices on why it was more if I paid more for the same coin. He called me a dickbag. Then all this started and I discovered his schill bidding. I turned him in and hope ebay will do something about it. Even changed his feedback to private to hide it.

    Thank you,
    warlok

You could email warlok@adelphia.net if you want to hear his story.

I've always had good transactions with Mike, except for one a late last year.

He had a 1921-D $1 MS65 rainbow Morgan listed for $460 that I needed for my Rainbow Morgan Mint Mark set. I set up a snipe for $495.

The day before the auction closed - poof - it was gone. image

I emailed him telling my story and he had said it was up for 6 days without any bids so he sold it to someone who emailed him an offer.

Dang - that was a pretty coin too

I didn't know we could use that word around here.....image

Seriously, doesn't this story sound crazy??

All this sounds out of character for Mike. He has an account here, hopefully he will come around and tell his side of the story.

I turned him in and hope ebay will do something about it.

Looks like they did alright. Don't know anything about their investigation or the merits of the accusations but I do know....there is no such thing as 'just a little' shill bidding. Kind of like being 'a little' pregnant. Hope its false, and gets cleared up and he gets back in action soon.

Palma386 has also been NARUed so it appears eBay stuck the shill charge against MB Coins. If you look at what coins Palma386 bid on it doesn't make a bit of sense. He bid on 5 MB Coins auctions where the selling price was under $100. Who would risk using a shill on such cheap coins?

Someone who thought using a shill on those coins would not raise any suspicions. And apparently it didn't until somebody had an agenda against him. I still find it hard to swallow, and I agree I hope he shows up and clears this up.

  • Is mbcoins located in Daytona Beach? Only reason I ask is that the wife and I spend January and part of February there and I had noticed someone with a handle much like his, that was from Daytona.

    Thanks
