My postal clerk tried to have me commit fraud

My old post office closed the blue customer service door so I moved to another one and it's great. The blue door is open sometimes, but they'll work the line when it gets long for people just picking up packages. They also extened the hours to 6 PM M-F and 2:30 PM on Saturdays
Anyway today I had a pink slip and needed a money order. He prints the money order and I start to fill it out while he goes to get my package. When he gets back he starts mumbling to himself and pushing buttons. Then he asks for the money order and scans it hits more buttons and mumbles some more. He tries to put it back in the printer and then changes his mind and gets a new blank one out and runs it through the printer and hands me the first one back saying it's OK now.
Since I figured he needed to press a button to say the money order printed OK and instead wandered away so the register timed-out and told him to reprint it, so I asked to see the receipt.
And sure enough the one he handed me (#354) was marked as voided and (#365) was the good one.
If I would have sent the seller the one he gave me he would have deposited the Postal Money Order and it would have been returned as NSF to his bank.
So you have to watch these people.

Could be - he had the good one.
But I look for the good side of people so I think it was just incompetence
