I'm undecided on this one, so I figured I'd poll you guys to see what you think I should do. I got a great deal on two 1976 Topps baseball racks ($40 dlvd each) and I'm torn on whether I should bust them or sell them. If I bust them, the only cards I would keep (mint w/decent centering) would be the Eck, Brett, Yount, and Aaron and I would sell the rest. If I sell, I'm likely to get around $200-250 for the pair. i've never busted 76's because I always felt they were overpriced relative to the cards in the set, but since I got such a deal on these, I'm thinking I might give it a shot. Are they tougher than the other late 70s issues (say 78 or 79)?

If you keep buying and selling wax, you could parlay those profits into something awesome (61 Fleer basketball pack, an old cello pack, who knows).

" Go ahead and get your fancy barely visible cell phones that get the internet, play DVD's, and can speak 5 languages. As for me and my Atari cell phone it works, it weighs 7 pounds, it is 14 inches long, and it looks like I could call in an airstrike from a remote desert it is so large!"
If you bust any of those packs and get dups, let me know, Im down to needing around 60 cards for my set!

I would vote for sell.

As far as the 1976 set I had one about 2/3's done in PSA 8/9, and the value of the set is not going to make you rich. If you were born between 1965 and 1972 you are like a lot of folks and like the set because you collected it as a kid. Unfortunately there are not a lot of high demand cards in the set since 1975 stole all of the rookies!

Have fun.

I'm having a hard time judging how PSA would grade these. I think the Brett (keeping) would get an 8, the Schmidt a 7 with a bad lower left corner, and I give the rest an outside shot at a 9. At least I got one card I want to keep. Couldn't be happier.
