POLL: Would you enter a coin giveaway if you have no intention of keeping it, if you won?

imageI would not, and if I did and won, I would let the person give it to a YN.

  • No, I fgure let a person win who wanted to win to get the coin.

I don't enter most of the giveaways. I'd rather be the one giving.

  • Yes I would enter anyway cause it is fun to win... but then I would offer it up to someone who wanted and or needed it

  • if I won a speared bison, I would sell it as fast as I could. if I waited to long, it would only be worth 5 cents.

image Doesn't make any sense to do that? I've been lucky enough to win a coin and a book in giveaways. I would "Never" sell, trade, or giveaway, these items. Shouldn't enter if this is your goal.

    Would I, could I win a prize?

  • I've been given coins, and won them in giveaways, and I have sold them... I don't enter when my intention from the start is to sell... but... sometimes I get tired of the coins, and I need money for something else, so it will get sold...

    Nope.
I have entered many contests/giveaways, won a couple, kept each item for my son.
There have been many other giveaways that I have skipped over because I didn't want the item or didn't think it would fit in for us in our collecting.
So, by not entering, that increases someone else's chance of winning (who may actually enjoy the item right from the start).

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I rarely enter, and when I do, it is when the giveaway is explicitly for YN family members of forum members. I give these to my 6 year old son, Jack. One notable exception was when Mr. Eureka generously gave away the Akers book on gold pattern coins. I was fortunate to win that book, which I absolutely love and would not part with for any amount of money.

    Care to elaborate?
  • The few times I enetered I wrote in my entry reply that I wanted the coin donated to Jeremy's charity auction.

    It depends on the coin.
