Wonder if ANACS charged extra for the paragraph they had to write on the slab ? Still not a bad looking coin considering all that's been done to it. After all, it's 210 years old. image

I've got to agree, whoever worked on that coin did a good job. The coin looks good considering what it's been through.

I wonder how long before this coin is in a flip and in some dealer's case?

once a coin's been plugged, it's pretty much automatic that it's also tooled & cleaned, & the overall surfaces altered (whizzed, whatever). you should ALWAYS make that assumption when buying a plugged coin, regardless of what the holder says (or does'nt say)

From what I understand about these early issues (which isn't much), a large number of them are plugged. Comments anyone??

    "plugged-tooled whizzed-cleaned," but I still like it.

I read somewhere once that it was popular at one time to drill a hole in a silver dollar and then put a ribbon through it. A baby would then wear it around her neck and use it for teething.
