Results of first submission posted!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ten free submissions were finally posted today. Here are the results;

1 12186128 1975 TOPPS 228 GEORGE BRETT N/A 9 (I thought this really had a shot at a 10)
2 12186129 1955 TOPPS 47 HANK AARON N/A 6 (I had my fingers crossed that it may get a 7, centering top to bottom hurt this card)
3 12186130 1964 TOPPS 150 WILLIE MAYS N/A 8 (What I expected. Bought this card raw from Krukcards for 65 bucks)
4 12186131 1976 TOPPS 148 WALTER PAYTON N/A 8 (What I expected. Bought this card for $110 at local card show)
5 12186132 1970 KELLOGG'S 40 ERNIE BANKS N/A 9 (Should be a 10 ... no doubt)
6 12186133 1970 KELLOGG'S 27 ROBERTO CLEMENTE N/A 8 (I figured this would get an 8, was hoping to get lucky. I now need Clemente in a 9 to be 100% complete with this set in straight PSA 9. Anybody have an extra???????)
7 12186134 1989 SCORE 257 BARRY SANDERS N/A 9 (What I expected. Paid 25 bucks at card show in Orland Park)
8 12186135 1986 TOPPS TRADED 11T BARRY BONDS N/A 9 (What I expected. SMR is only 38 bucks. Beckett shows a near mint price of 40 raw. What gives????????)
9 12186136 1960 TOPPS 200 WILLIE MAYS N/A 6 (I figured this would get either 5 or 6)
10 12186137 1951 TOPPS RED BACK 44 SID HUDSON N/A 6 ( I must have missed something on this one, as I thought this would grade a 9. I don't know what happened on this one. Any guesses???

What is the market currently bringing for a Brett graded 9? I know SMR is 560, but I want to know what reality is in the market. Less than 5% of all Bretts submitted have graded a 9. I still don't know how this one did not receive a 10 as it is outstanding. I had no luck doing a completed auction search on Ebay.

Let me know how I did.

Thanks

Dave

Sorry to go off topic a bit, but I couldn't find any recent sales of the '75 Gary Carter rookie in PSA 9. Anyone have a clue what one of those puppies would fetch?

Can you scan the Brett when you have it
in your hands? Very nice results!
  • M7, 51 Red backs are notorious for paper wrinkles or hairline creases on the backs. Very tough to see unless you look at under correct angle, light, and magnification. Check them when they get back and let us know if you find any.

  • Thanks for all the kind words. I'll be sure to post a scan of the Brett when I receive it. I honestly felt a 10 was not out of the question. I'll be very interested in your thoughts and opinions. Is there any way to find out what the graders saw in your cards to give them the grades they did?

I have the Clemente 9 on my watch list. I felt my Clemente would grade an 8, which it did. However, I really felt the Banks had a shot for a 10. Its the best 70 Kelloggs card that I have laid my eyes upon. Oh well, live and learn.

    Thanks Again
