Bad news for Naxcom users ...

When did eBay start with the Want it Now posts. I've never seen this before. This cannot be too good for Naxcom users. image

I think it was about January. I've had a few responses to my want it now, but nothing has come of them, as of yet.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Yeah, I believe when I first stumbled into this it was January.

  • As a seller, I thought Want-It-Now would be greater than sliced bread. Wrong!
I've listed single cards buyers have asked for, enough cards to complete buyers sets, ... etc. blah blah blah
In about 10 WIN answers to posts, I've sold all of ONE item. It seems that the posters are under several wrong impressions:

    1. Selling on Ebay is free!!

    2. They believe sellers have mind reading capabilities and can glean their email addresses out of thin air.

    3. When a seller posts what you've asked for, ignoring them is SOP.

In ranting conclusion, just another Ebay (overall) manuever to suck in more fees, imagine that......

Thank you, I feel better now image

It sucks... I just tried to post... they won't let you post your user name, e-mail address, anything... so in order to respond to a post, the seller has to list an auction to offer it to them... stupid.

It's not the most functional service they offer but I did find some difficult Marino cards through Want it Now. The seller e-mailed to me his auctions and we agreed on a buy it now price that he revised his auction and I bought and paid immediately. My two biggest complaints are that it's hard to navigate through and having sellers send me links to their auctions that have NOTHING to do with what I'm looking for. Overall, not a bad feature....

Naxcom service is much better than Ebays. However if Ebay actually considered them a threat or even an annoyance, Ebay could easily upgrade the offering to include buyers listing prices willing to be paid and create a "free offer" for the sellers in the spirit of second chance offers.

Naxcom is nice because of the free listings, but it's fees are quite large when you add them all up.

I received $401 of a $425+$10 shipping sale on Naxcom. After shipping my take was $395 of the $435 the buyer had spent.

  • When this first came out with ebay... I had a lot of luck with it. I receive a lot of replies from DS sellers. I got one hell of a deal off of Naxcom.

I was able to get a PSA 8 1991 TOPPS Desert Shield Randy Johnson card for 24.99 w/free shipping. I have seen his card go for up to $40-$50 dollars without being graded.

I also got a 1991 DS KEN GRIFFEY JR for $24.99 - his #790 card, which goes for over $50 in mint con.
