I Made an MS66 Clad IKE Today...

Nothing special, but I got it out of a mint set I bought for $7.00. The date is 1977-D. Nice little coin to update my registry. image

    Rampage, good job ! A $ 300.00 dollar coin for a few bucks !
Another good source is dansco albums that have been traded in or sold to dealers.

    GREAT JOB!image

Mint sets are a tougher spot to find 66 clads than one might imagine.
The only 66 clad Ikes I've ever found in Mint Sets were 73-P's and 73-D's. image

If I ever find a 67 Clad....I'll probably faint. image

Yeah, I think I would faint, too, if I ever made an MS67. One can always dream, though. ANd, Brian can live our dreams with his MS67 he made a while back (2 years, maybe less?).

GrandAm, Congrats on your MS66, too. image

I have looked at Dansco's, but most of the coins usually have slide marks from that plastic thingy, so I always pass them up. My best luck has been in mint sets. If I recall correctly, this is the third one I found from mint sets.

Gary, you are right about free grades coming back faster than paid coins. I usually get the free graded coins back in 2 or 3 weeks, where I have waited 2 months for the paid gradings.
I guess it's to put the new members in the right frame of mind !
