Oooh, oooh, it's a VAM 4 (doubled date, dash under 8) and it grades MS65. Most excellent giveaway!

Edited to add, I think it's an MS65 due to the weak obverse strike and the hits in the reverse fields.

BB Altered surfaces. Looks like someone messed with this trying to hide some of the chatter around the motto on the reverse. Other than that it looks like MS 66 CC obv(MS 65 any other mint) ms 64 rev.

Easily PCGS MS-66, not messed with IMO, but it would probably make NGC MS-67* if Heritage submitted it

The only VAM mentioned in Breen's encyclopedia for this date is the VAM 4 so that is my guess. He talks about repunched dates.

I'm thinking this should grade MS 66.
