Shame. Still, even in this condition, that '44-D may drive up the price rather considerably. Surely someone will probably try to undo as much damage as they can to that one.

Another reason NOT to collect gold coins. I imagine gold coin collectors must come across things like this quite often. It must drive you crazy!

It's a shame they weren't holed in the process, I'd bid on it. Own a couple other similar pieces, but where they were holed in the four 'corners' for the loops.
