Incredibly stupid question about the job titles at Heritage
This is really a stupid question, but I feel a need to ask it because I noticed it in a few catalogs. In each Heritage catalog, the have two pages with pictures and bios of the people who wrote or otherwise worked on that catalog. Each of the people listed has the title of "cataloger", and one person has the title of "senior cataloger". I assume the senior cataloger is the head honcho. However, only one of the people listed has the title of "numismatist and catatloger". Does anyone know what the difference is between a plain old cataloger, and a "numismatist and cataloger"?
I told you it was a stupid question.

Next is the "Senior Cataloger", Mark Borckardt.
Realistically, each and every member of the catalog staff at Heritage is one heck of a numismatist...no matter what title they hold.

I would guess that both are numismatists, but perhaps the "numismatist and cataloger" does things other than catalog (sales? purchasing?) and the "cataloger" does only that?
