I hate to be nosey but...............

in PCGS Set Registry Forum
I was looking at Mershon's #2 registry set and I just could'nt help but wonder about something. Is there
a coin in this set that could improve the #1 set? My curiosity has won and I asked. If this question is not
appropriate or unethical please tell me so. image

    Since this set is being auctioned soon, you may find out. However many of them were submitted recently for regrade and stayed put...I think Stewart is staying at #1 and is very aware of what is in that set.

    Actually the answer is "yes". The 52-P and 55-D coins in the Mershon set would be upgrades to Stewart's set. However, Stewart has made it pretty well known that he doesn't think spending thousands on late date common lincolns is a wise idea.
    Among the earlier part of the set, I doubt any of the Mershon coins would better Stewart's set.

    When's the last time that the #1 set added any up-grades?
