Set Idea

After going through my idea for the last year HoF registry set, the common thing I think I found was that there were typically no official last year cards for HoFers that listed their complete stats, which got me to thinking.

I think some manufacturer (topps I think would be the best suited for it) to offer up a set of cards, done very well, high grade stock, and limited in scope (say 100,000 of each card...hell I'm just throwing numbers out there). Sell the cards in say 6 card packs at very high prices, and randomly include cut autos of the HoFers (maybe make it a total of 1 auto per player).

Then each year, offer for sale the new members of the hall to add on to the set.

I think that this would be a great way to bring to light some of the lesser known HoFers, and to bring another generation of baseball fans the history of this great game.

Could probably do it for football too....as it's become the most watched game.

The only problem I'd see would how many cards of each would be printed, and how to price it.

Just curious what you all thought.

I like your idea...but I'd tweak it just a bit. Each year they could include the new HOF members in the packs of one of their other products. So, when you buy the Topps 2008 packs (whichever set they designate) you could randomly pull the Ripken/McGwire/Gwynn cards that are actually part of the Topps HOF Master Set (or whatever they call it.)

    Neat idea, though.

I like the idea but the problem will be contracting all of the HOF'ers - most likely impossible due to how much some of the families may want or may be under contract with another card company - possibly?.
