Your Oldest Change Find?

What's your oldest Darkside change find?

Mine was back in 1990-2 when i had a George V Florin in my change (prob 193X) can't remember the date, it might have even been as early as 1928. I was only 6 or 7 and it was a long time ago now.

Other than that though the oldest florins i found on a regular basis were 1948, with some 1947's for good measure.

My oldest coin find as a young lad was an 1878 bun halfpenny - a key date at that!! I still have it in my collection. That was at a time when decimal coinage was about to come into being.

I also had several bun pennies in change, but could never read the dates. Veiled head pennies and halfpennies were very common to find.

This doesn't count wybrit because it was 1890 when you found it. image

My oldest non-US find has to be a Canadian cent. Probably from the late 30's to early 40's. A couple years ago my stepson got an 1859 US cent in change at MediaPlay.

My oldest find doesn't really count as change. I was watching my uncle fish for salmon in the far north of British Columbia in 1965. As I was reading a book and watching him fish I was also digging around in the bank with one hand. Up popped a 1919 Canadian penny. Still have it... image
