Just got back from estate sale

I jus returned from my first estate sale. It was quite an experience. The man they were selling for had a lot of raw coins and many proof sets and mint sets. Here is what i bought:

2 1999, 1 2000, 1 2002, 1 2003, and 1 2004 State Quarter proof sets for $5.00 each.

1 1998 proof set for $6.00.

1 1999 Yellowstone Commemerative 2 coin set for $10.00.

1 1999 Dolly Madison Commemerative 2 coin set for $5.00.

They all come in the original Mint boxes and have all COAs. This was a new experience for me and I enjoyed it. I think I did pretty good on the items I bought. I didn't know a lot about the raw coins so I was hesitant to bid on any of them. The coins ranged from an 1832 50 cent piece all the way up to the modern proofs. Next time I'm gonna study up more before I go because I'm sure I missed out on some good deals. One guy got two 1999 silver proof sets for $22.50 each. Oh well, I've blabbed on enough. Let me know what ya'll think of my purchases, especially the commemeratives. These were the first I have purchased.

Goodbye

Brian

Looks like you did all right, and you had fun, which is the important thing. What are your collecting interests?

    This guy got a steal.
  • I have taken a liking to the Liberty Walking Halves. I don't know what it is about them but I think the are purty. I also have a few Franklins. I don't think I have found my niche yet.

    Wow.
    tempus fugit extra philosophiam.
  • All that would have cost you 1299.99 on the Coin Vault with 5-pay.

You did fine. Should have picked up some raw ones. Just go for what strikes you as nice as long as it is cheap. It is the fun of the hunt.

just check the edges of those silvers carefully to see you got the right coins.
these sets are not in sonic welded holders like most older sets were so its easy
to mix and match or plunder sets with virtual no sign of holder tampering.
just thought i,d throw that little wet blanket on ya. image
    your welcome.

Those silver proof sets were a steal. They are selling on ebay and the boards for a couple hundred or more.
