proof error

I have an error I would like to share, but it is in a plastic case and can't get the image to focus. if anyone has any ideas please help????

    It is a 200 s penny with what looks like a lump of metal in front of linc. and there is a line going into his forehead. kinda looks like a bullet with the trajectory outlined

    yea i have one but i guess im too bumb to use it. Iwas using my scanner. time to get the 100 page manual out for the camera

    Shoot in macro setting, good lighting, but avoid the glare off the plastic. You may have to shoot at a slight angle to do that.

    image If you are better with the scanner, try cropping the pic to the area you want and rescanning there at high resolution.

    Planchet defect. Not sure how much premium value, if any, but the copper plating didn't stick well.

    It could be a linear bubble. Or it could be a die gouge or other form of die damage. The only way to tell for sure is to take the coin out of its case and press on the ridge with the tip of a toothpick while observing the whole procedure through the lens of a microscope. If the metal flexes, it's a linear bubble. If it doesn't flex, then it's die damage.
