Doesn't anyone ever contact their buyers anymore?

Just a little venting . . .

It seems like more and more I win auctions and never hear a word from the seller. I get the "ebay auction won" email from ebay and that's it. Sometimes there's written instructions on the listing, but most times there's not. This is a little troublesome to me, especially for higher priced items. I just won a 1955 Topps Ted Williams PSA 5 for $175. The seller had excellent feedback, so after a few days without hearing a word, I just PayPal'd him and hoped the card would arrive. I never got any indication (postive feedback, an email, anything) indicating that the seller was aware that payment had been made. It's just pay and hope for the best. On the bright side, the card came today, and I am very happy with it.

Maybe it's just me, but a little communication goes a long way. I love the seller's who tell you what you owe, tell you when they received your payment, tell you when your cards have been shipped, and so on. Some of them even leave feedback once they're payed image. You always know what's going on with these sellers.

Any thoughts ?

I've noticed it too. And I agree that it's a bit unnerving to PayPal or mail considerable dollars to a seller who has never acknowledged your winning bid, even if it's with something as simple as an automated eBay or PayPal invoice. I haven't had any problems yet, but I'm beginning to wonder if the DMX CD I recently won is ever going to show up. Luckily it was just a buck and change (plus shipping) but the complete lack of communication from some sellers does stink.

you should be hopeful it doesn`t show up. image

Get yourself some old fashioned Heavy Metal like Iron Maiden. You`d be much happier listening to real music that actually has some talented musicians playing actual instruments! image

My more frequent problem is the reverse .... buyers who don't respond to the invoice or my e-mails, but just send off a check. If they do it right away and I get it the same week, I don't mind. But it's those who wait a week or two, ignoring repeated invoices and reminders, who get me steamed.

I admit, when I have a large number of auctions closing at the same time, I cannot personally email every winner. But, I try to send an invoice right away, so the total is available with payment instructions, and I use a service that sends out delivery confirmations as I ship. Seems to work fine...

No one more frustrating then seller/buyer who is overly impressed with his own feedback.

I had the same issue on a card that I won, never heard back from the seller, recieved item though, and then no feedback. Seller just e-mailed me and told me that his computer had crashed and said that he would leave feedback. I will wait and see if I get feedback. This was the second item I purchased from this seller and the first time was the same thing, never really heard a word from him, item was received and he left feedback only after I had.
