Opinions on a Cartwheel 2 pence

Someone posted one of these a few weeks ago and I have been looking to get one for myself. Although I an not sure what a fair price would be. Does $100 seem fair for the below coin?

I think $100 isn't too bad for that coin.

Holy cow! That is an 'ernie' coin.

I'd probably go $100 for that one image

Done, its mine now. It ended up costing me $107 including shipping and taxes. Do you know ernie? He lists a ton of stuff on ebay. Don't think I have ever bought from him though.

Just curious, how did ernie grade that coin?

I think it's a decent price ... those are pretty hard to find in decent condition without a load of rim bumps.

That seller (just my own observation, of course) usually has stuff priced a bit high, and somewhat overgraded. I was following a bunch of his auctions when I was into liteside early coppers, though, so I can't really say how he is on Darkside material.

I agree that his lightside stuff is usually priced a bit high, that is why I asked about this one. Thanks for the comments everyone.

One more question.....as I understand these are some pretty thick coins. I assume that won't fit in a 2x2. What do you put these in to protect them.

Rats ... I can't find the darned link, but someone out there sells 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" flips that you can squeeze them into. I doubt if Airtites have anything that would hold 'em.

I like darkside material from ernie. I've bought several Conder tokens from him. He uses a scanner so the tokens have always been better in hand than the scan showed. I am selective in the tokens I have bought from him though, but if I decide that the price is fair for the coin I buy it.

While I have won a number of "rips" on eBay I prefer to pay a fair price for the coins I win. I have sent sellers more money than I won the coin for on more than a few occasions.
