Do you know how that compared with pre-auction estimates?

Actually a lot of the "more" interesting lots went for many (e.g. 5 - 8) times estimate. I was hoping to get some of the nice ms Peru Republican 8E's of the 1830's & 1840's which I think were estimated for $1000 - $2000. One of them brought $8500, another for $4800 and all the others for way over std retail. Even the AU pieces brought unc money.

I was able to get one lot: a very nice Chile 8E, 1838, "Hand on Book" type in ms (the nicest one of those there). You may remember me as the bidder who won that coin on a tie. However I lost a much less important Brazilian piece to an IneterNet bidder after beating out everyone on the floor. Out of ~20- 25 coins I planned to bid on I only got one. Many people, however, got nothing.

Also the food was wonderful & I met many very important contacts. I was very impressed with the reception & things put on by ANR. I shall try to decrease the business I do with another Evil auction firm, based in NY, who shall remain nameless & deal more with ANR.
