HOLY CRAP! I've been watching hockey since the mid 60's and this is by far the best hockey fight vid I've ever seen.

WARNING: Not for the weak or non brutality gang.

This is absolutely brutal. Many KO's and blood.

Proving once and for all that hockey is the toughest game going.

i've ordered from that sight hdhockey.com that they link to on the bottom-excellent hockey dvd's. some of the older stuff had some bad quality here and there but overall well worth it.

Thanks! I hadn't yet received my daily dose of blood oozing from the mouth of an unconscious hockey player.

Kidding aside, I'm actually ambivalent when it comes to fighting in hockey. I guess I enjoy the occasional fisticuffs, but there is something absurd about 17,000 people being whipped into a frenzy by the sight of two guys engaging in behavior that would probably get them arrested if it were taking place just about anywhere besides a hockey rink.

EDIT: Just watched it again. I think pound for pound P.J. Stock was the tuffest guy on ice. Until Matthew Barnaby broke his cheekbone that is.

Those fights make hockey the toughest game going? Did you see the rugby movie posted last week? And what does that make boxing, where the whole object of the game is to fight? I love a good hockey fight, too, especially the goalies' special relationship, but really, there were only about 4 good punches thrown in the whole video. Classic old Metallica, though, when they could, you know, play music.

at least he called it the toughest "game" and not the toughest "sport".. try MMA for that..

The goalie-on-goalie action was great! Was that Potvin v. Hextall? It's nice to see some non-goons going at it.

What was with that one guy trying to land all the body blows? Rather a futile mission with all that padding on.

And who was the guy that was left unconscious?

If you want to know what is wrong with hockey, why it cannot get on national TV, why no one goes anymore, why the season (and the league) is dead, and most people couldn't care less, this is why.... when referees stand there like Larry Hazzard and wait for the pounding and bloodlust to come to fruition, instead of jumping on the fighters and throwing them off the ice, for days and games, so it really hurts them and their team, (and finally stops ruining the underlying sport), hockey has been, is and will be a joke in this country. Other countries play hockey and the instances of fights are negligible. Hockey is an extraordinary sport, and those who play it well, not like Dave Schultz who showed how it can be debased, show that its an amazing thing to watch. I don't miss the NHL, I miss hockey.

True but the stick work is absolutely brutal . Ask any NHLer if they would want to ban fighting , quite a few got a shock playing over in Europe this year with all the stick work

Or you could try college hockey here in the US. I saw dozens of CCHA games while a student at Western Michigan and the stickwork never ceased to amaze me. Constant slashing and hacking.
