Hello all . . . been watching the forum posts for awhile. Decided to finally take the plunge and join in. Football is my weakness . . .

For some unknown reason I've been drawn to the 1978 Topps Football Set . . . and some of the Team Sets from the same year.

I've learned a lot just from reading everyone's posts . . . Thanks All.

    The design for the 1978 football set is one of my all-time favorites.

    Your Steelers will be in San Diego playing my Chargers on Monday night this year ... giddyup ... image

    I think with the recent allegations that the Steel Curtain were certain to be on the juice, my long hatred for y'all is not nearly as extreme. Also, now everyone agrees that Mike Renfro's foot was in-bounds and had there been instant replay, we would have certainally won the '79 playoff game image
    So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    However, I do agree to disagree with your assessment of the Steel Curtain and the '79 playoffs . . . image

    For me . . . 4 Rings, 6 years, Dynasty . . . Priceless. Would you expect anything less from a Steelers Fan image

    I'll add my welcome - and good luck with the '78 set. I've been kinda/sorta working on it for a few months and it's a great set. Brings back a bunch of memories from high school when I really became a rabid football fan.
