No...I wanted it, but I never expected it to go over $350.00, much less over $600.00.
I saw one sell for around $280.00 a few months ago.
Anyway, i just got the 80-D half that I have been looking for for so long.

Where? That is a steal. I sold mine last fall for $525, and that was before the big three had started their sets!

That '80-D half is a bear. Roll coins are around but many are from pretty worn dies and
the mint set coins usually have the shallow scrapes.
There are some neat dime and quarter varieties from this year too.

I had forgotten to open it up.
It is open now!
Take a look...
Hey, you got any "sleepers" you're sitting on to upgrade that '55 mint set? (g)
RR
I should think the Philly dime and Denver quarter will be your easiest upgrades.
Some of those will prove almost impossible to improve.
I'll put one in if you will. (g)
Seriously, I have one in hand to add but have just not entered it yet.
Nice being up there with you at the top, my Friend.

All of my sets have been tied, or beaten, in the last couple of months.
This is the only one I might have a chance of holding for a while.
Then again, I know Zach wants it pretty bad!

Hehe, yup. I am working on some additions but I might not beat the buzzer. You might have won this set for 2005. But I will give you a run (I hope if PCGS is kind).
This is the only set I am hoping to be #1 in since XXX took the wind out of my sails with that breathtaking 2004 Mint Set. Congratualtions on that 1980 kennedy find. That will be the coin that beats me. It is such a bear.
Anyways, nice set and always a pleasure building sets with you, (or against you I mean )

Thanks for the luck Ernie. It has been a fun couple of months collecting the same sets with you and I hope I get to collect more with you. I wish you the best with your sets. If I find anything that you might need I will let you know (or if I get lucky with PCGS).
Zach
PS Are you going to do a 2005 Mint set? I'm not sure if i will sit this year out or not. If I build one I certainly won't be going for a top 5 set.

<< <i>2005 Mint Set ???? Hummmm That might be fun.
>>
LOL, you going to do one XXX? I haven't decided yet. I will probably do one but only shoot for a top ten set. I am going to keep pushing on my 2004 and 1980 sets. So most of my resources will be in those.
Thx for the PM Ernie!

Walt, I know Zach is bitting his nails waiting for his submission results.
I have a feeling he will do OK with it, and I wish him luck.
But, I'm not done, yet!
Damn, ain't this fun?
