Certainly, I am no super sleuth, but I was browsing through the
MastroNet, Inc.'s action and saw that a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle
PSA 6 sold for $12650.00. I think SMR is $10,000.00. Not too bad.
Here is a link to the auction. The PSA serial number is 07002834.

So then I am checking on ebay for 1952 Topps Mantles and come
across an auction for a PSA 6. The serial number is also 07002834.
Here is the link.

Do you guys think this a pure fraud. I SUPPOSE it is conceivable that
the person who purchased the MastroNet auction is now selling it on
ebay.
I do note that it is a private auction and the seller hasn't sold an item
since about November 2004. Additionally, the seller has sold a lot of
private auction. Check this out.
Saucerjack feedback from buyers.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I guess math is not his bag so he tried dealing in high end baseball cards. On another note- fraud...
I doubt the guy is in possession of the card yet...although he may be the owner and "borrowed" the scans from the auction.
I emailed the buyer - he says "he is selling it for his son" - I asked him how long his son has had the card.
Just trying to see what he says.

He's also auctioning another 52 Mantle!
AAA. He go's as far as saying that, " If you have it graded, do it in person, grading co's have been
known to switch cards ( like the PSA scandal etc ). "
IN the PSA 6 auction, he not only borrowed the scans as Mike has mentioned, but also much of the linguistic description that only Mastronet seems to be able to muster up.
HIS OTHER MANTLE AUCTION
<< <i>HE GOT IT AT MASTRONET AUCTION HOUSE... >>
So the guy may be looking for the quick flip - but you can pretty much bet that if the card doesn't go for more than the investment, it will "mysteriously" become unavailable!
Or the guy is an experienced scammer and was expecting this and was ready with an honest answer to throw off the skeptics.

maybe its nothing, but what if he its buying these cheap cards for the slabs, breaking them up and seeing which one opens without a lot of snow, inserting the reprints and then manufacturing some home made flips?
a very amateur WIGWAG in the making?
caveat emptor!
