POLL! - - IF you were collecting signatures, would you Want this one?

  • Look how it would appear as a CUT SIG, like on a card or something.

  • I wouldn't go so far as to say it is ruined with the holes, but I would keep the piece intact.

Maybe if it was framed/mounted with a white background the holes would not stand out as much.

The rest of the check looks pretty good, but yes it would have to be cheap.

    Is this in an auction?

A side note: Ten bucks worth of wood in 1918 must have built quite a large room!

Am I the only one not really bothered by the holes? If anything, they add character and a sense of history to the piece. It is, after all, a legitimate document of conveyance. Better the holes than a blue ink PAID stamp over top. The auto itself it beautiful; he had nice handwriting.

I think the holes detract from the esthetic quality of the auto - I would still want it if the price were right since it is legit and those are legit cancellation holes. And, if I got it as a cut on a card for free...I would feel like it was my "lucky" day!

exactly what I thought. I just think it was a shame they did not put the Holes on a different place besides right on the signature.

It wouldn't look too bad if placed on a white background so white shows through the holes on a custom cut card like what austinchau and myself have been making.. I think it's awesome especially if you get it for cheaper due to people being turned off to the holes..

  • I don't doubt the authenticity of the seller's items, but find his auctions somewhat eccentric(?).

Selling this item because 2nd child is one the way, and also here is a picture of my first kid on a horse.

Why would you take a picture of an item in your car? Maybe he had it on consignment in a shop, or had to borrow someone's camera. Maybe when he say's the 2nd child is on the way he is not kidding. "Took this photo when the wife's contractions were 8 minutes apart and we were driving to the hospital."

My son on a horse and first day cover auto in my auto

And this one - "winner also gets a PSA graded card."

I have a 1914 pack and the odds are good that there's nothing in it. Not only that, but the Honest brand also packaged the T227 cards in which the Cobb would be a cheap "cousin" to the T205 - and this is where you will need an expert on the run - the cards were placed in packs in the 1911 timeframe - this is a 1914 pack. This same thing occurred when a "hoard" of Sweet Caporal packs with a tax stamp of 1916 were found and fooled a lot of people into thinking they had a chance for a high dollar card and came up with zero!

So, if I could sell my pack for a grand...just let me know where to send it!
