A thread was stated on the liteside about this show. Here is my reply:
<< <i>The show is CHECOPEX 2005 in Cheektowaga, NY which is a suburb of Buffalo. After many years of decline, the show is now run by the Buffalo Numismatic Association. Attendance is free and there will be about 65 tables. The show runs today, Sat 4/16 from 10:00 - 5 and tomorrow, Sunday from 10:00 - 4:00. The location of the show is the Columbus Banquet Hall, Knights of Columbus, 2735 Union Road. >>
I'll be today at 10:00 and possibly tomorrow.

A very busy show in the morning when I arrived about 10 minutes after opening. It be due the fact that the weather is absolutely beautiful today, near 70° and sunny, so people wanted to get out early. There was only two dedicated darkside dealers there. One was Dick MacIntosh from Addison, NY. Dick is a gruff old guy who takes some getting used to. But once you do, he is an OK guy who has a fairly large inventory, especially in British coins. His prices are strong but grading is conservative. The more you buy from him, the more of a discount he gives.
There were also some liteside dealers who had foreign coins. I always look at these because these guys aren't usually up to date on their pricing and they usually give bigger discounts off their listed price.
About 2/3 the tables were coin dealers with the rest being stamp people. For a local show there were a fair amount of dealers from out of the area. For US Large Cents collectors there were two dealers who only had Large Cents in their inventory.
There was a couple dealers who were so busy, buyers or lookers I don't know, that I couldn't elbow my way up to the table so I'll be going back tomorrow morning when the crowd should be thinner.
Sorry Aethelred, Mike Fiedler, my Vatican coin connection, wasn't at the show.

Nothing really unusual that I noticed, but I wasn't really looking for the unusual.

<< <i>akdrv, who is your favorite Buffalo area dealer with a good selection of quality European stuff? Is it Mike Fieldler? >>
I don't know his name. At last year's convention his table was right in the middle of the bourse floor.
