I feel the Jordan card is one of the greatest card will! but i also feel the Gretzky card is one of the greatest card will. Together I think they is both two of the greatest card will!
I think both as well. One can argue about Gretzky's OPC RC being much more condition sensitive than the Jordan. Jordan is more widely known and Basketball is bigger than hockey. blah blah... both..
that's kind of a loaded question. when i bought my jordan it cost me nearly $2,000 and a year later they were going for roughly $3,000. it's been 5 years since those prices have been realized....now you can get a mint jordan for $1100 or less. I also remember when a gem mint jordan was in the $30-$50k range, i swear i saw one on ebay a couple months ago for $7k. I'm not familiar w/ gretzky, but i'd have to say the modern overproduction's going to always hamper the jordan card indefiinitely.
high grade jordan rc's will always be in demand, though it will be tough for them to reach the heights of a few years ago. I wonder how much of a boost they'll get when he comes up for hof selection. I did notice an uptick in high grade jordan 2nd and 3rd year cards in the last smr.
the Jordan will continue to slide due to unopened packs still increasing the POP count. I would put my money on the OPC, but it very well could slide some too, but prob not as much.
The Gretzky obviously is in much shorter supply than the Jordan, but Jordan (a) was a much more widespread figure than Gretzky and (b) Gretzky played hockey (by far the #4 sport in N. America).
It's a difficult question to answer but pressed, I'd say the Jordan (although both will continue to rise).
