I bought and opened a lot of 1957 Topps baseball packs at a 5 cents a piece. I recently bought another 57 pack in the EC Gallery auction. It cost more than a nickle.... and I don't plan to open it.
I had a pack of 1951 Topps Red Backs that I opened. The top card was a great Tommy Holmes variation card that I really should get graded one day. Behind it was a Warren Spahn that, unfortunately, had a indentation mark (from what looked like the machine that would pull the card sheet in the cutting or packing machine) that would kill any sort of good grade.
Thats the only unopened pack Ive ever purchased. I did keep the wrapper too.
a 1951 wax pack with all of 2 cards in it. Paid 125 for the pack and the SMR showed that the total for eachin PSA 8 was about half that. Oh well...a gamble of sorts. a 1960 wax pack did have a YAZ rookie in it, at least.
ebay:1967topps 1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends. Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards
Just bought a 72 Topps Hockey from Mr. Mint's find thru EC. Busted it as soon as I got it. Pulled 9 sweet singles and a Ron Ellis heavily damaged from the gum. The 9 cards are all going in my next submission. I'll let everyone know the results. It'll be fun to see if the cost of the pack covers the cards. An Orr would've been nice. If I end up with a 9 or two for my registry set I'm happy.
75 mini also, GAI 9 - pulled a OC Ryan also #7 I believe. I graded a 7 - as I asked for NQs. Also, pulled a few semi stars and a Schmidt which graded an 8.
Also, ripped a 78 OPC BB box last month - you can find the results under a search of that thread. This was a great box.

I bought a 1959 Topps football cello pack and pulled 3 commons that graded out PSA 9 and an o/c Bobby Mitchell rookie. It was very fun!!

Bottom card was Ryan. It had a gum stain (easily removed with panty hose), it was quite oc, and it had a minor corner dent. PSA gave it an 8OC.

You probably just need to rub your legs a little faster on the card.
