DS I have some that go back to the 70s and not sure how to display all of them. They do make toploaders big enough to house a 132 card sheet - you could also have a special frame made that can be viewed from both sides.
I have a 76T sheet with some HOF'ers that I'm planning to have framed and put on the wall but you won't be able to see the backs.
And by the way, I did see this uncut strip in a B&E auction that I found interesting - I knew the 58T Mantle AS was triple printed but didn't know the cards on one of the sheets were next to each other. So as one can see, these left over sheets have been invaluable to writers who detail/research the vintage sets and attempt to explain the SPs along with DP and TPs.
recently bought a nice autographed uncut sheet from a postcard set offered by the basketball hall of fame about a decade ago. beautiful, colorful sheet with many of the greats of the game, including mikan and robertson, and signed and numbered by the artist (ron lewis). since there's nothing of substance on backs, don't have that problem when displaying on wall. cost of framing, however, wasn't cheap, but looks great on wall in home office. set is fairly popular with basketball autograph collectors.
they are too expensive for the nice ones. you are bidding against all the unethical people who want to cut them up , get tehm graded as 9's and 10's and make a killing
I think they look great, and are increasingly hard to find. I"ve got a bunch of them, and have absolutely no intention of ever cutting them up. They are invaluable for researching sets- a sheet can explain why a card was short printed, why it is always found off center, etc. Panels are relatively easy to come by, full press sheets much tougher.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
Have the frame custom made with the glass on both sides and have it hinged on one side.. With some off set hinges you could have the frame within a few inch's of another and still flip it over for viewing..
A Sport Card Collector Is a WELL FOCUSED PACKRAT..
<< <i>The sheets in the current Robert Edward auction are amazing (esp the Goudeys). I'd much rather have those than the individual cards. >>
TCK I hear ya! I wish I had that kind of money! I will say...for those who used to watch Shop at Home...about 8 yrs. ago they were selling strips of 57T cards that were a bit overpriced and some were for sale in SCD - wished I had picked one up just to have. Also, exhibit vending machine posters from the large machines were for sale in the early 90s - again - shoulda - this stuff will probably not be seen again for retail.
don;t get me wrong, I would love to have the sheet and would never recommend cutting them up. I am letting myfrustration of not being able to buy one of the orr rookie sheets from the recent mastro auctions get to me.
<< <i>Lipset auctioned a '34 Goudey high number sheet with a '33 Lajoie on it about 18 months ago- it went for around 20K. Has to be the steal of all time. >>
Isn't that a $100 k sheet? It's been auctioned before.

This is cool stuff but it can eat the walls!
