I think the general rule is that if you see someone selling a 52 Mantle, you should see if he bought the guide to spotting fakes...

    I have noticed a lot of scammers buy a761506 Mantle guide. Kinda funny, you would think they would really be against the guide since it educates their pigeons lol.

    No offense to the author of that guide, who is a frequent poster here, but it could also be called "How to Avoid Creating A Really Obvious Fake '52 Mantle." I think he recently noted that many of his customers ended up trying to sell bogus '52 Mantles on eBay. Ugh.

    I like how this seller showed a close-up of the number 311 on the reverse. I guess that proves it's real. image

    Just look at his other auctions. He has some pretty amazing cards.....huh ?image

    On another note that Mantle matches up with a real one. Except it is just a very good copy. There have been a bunch of them showing up like this and they all have the crease at the top. The reason i know is i bought one about a year ago and sent it to Josh (guide author) for him to look at. As well as PSA. The problem was that he gave me access to his guide and at the time everything matched up. But what caused me the problem was that there are two versions and this one had the properties of both legit copie's. I forget the excact details but Josh ended up being able to update is guide because of this. And since than i have noticed lots of the card with the same crease at the top.

    Appears that he has bought quite a few cards from NARU ebay ids who used to sell reprints too...
