For those of you who might be interested, here is my last submission of vintage golf cards. PSA was very fair with the grades, a few higher than I thought, a few lower, and most as I predicted. The 1930 Wills cards were a mistake, I knew they were trash but sent them in hoping for an odd PSA 6 or possibly 7. Some of these cards are rare enough in decent grade that sometimes you send in what you can find just to fill in the holes in your collection.

I called PSA about the 1900 Cope Morris not being graded and was told the card was "flaking" and therefore not graded. I was expecting a PSA 2 for the card.

    wow... I know how tough some of those old Churchmans can be. Tell me, how long did it take you to acquire such an abundance of vintage golf for such a sizeable submission, and where did you purchase the cards? Did you buy them all raw or did you employ a cross-over/crack-out strategy? Also, do you collect amy modern golf ie Tiger, Jack, Hogan etc...?
    again, nice going, you have to be pleased...

    Peter, I just got back from a waayyyyy tooooo looonnnngggg business trip.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

    As I have told you before the 1931 small size cards are impossible. Anything in a 7 or above for that issue is a great great pull...

    There is still the matter of me taking some of your extra 1927 and 1931 churchmans off of your hands......image

    TM, Many thanks. Vintage golf cards are tough, especially in PSA 7 or better. The cards were all raw and purchased from about 8 different sources during the past 12 months or so. Most of the cards came from English collectors or dealers. I have another group going in to PSA, mostly from one source this time. I hope they do as well as this past group. I only have a few Tiger Woods cards so far. I prefer the vintage cards over the newer ones and just keep discovering new series and cards from the 1920s and 1930s all the time. There are a number of collectors out there who have been at it for more than 30 years and it's unbelievable what they have.


    Thanks Dave. I appreciate all your help and encouragement. I'm very interested in any vintage trades to enhance both our collections. I might even be interested in giving up a few 1931 PSA 8 1/1s if it helps out my 1927 set or helps me with a few other sets. image

    Dave has gone to great lengths to scan his cards. Check out the vintage golf collections under Misc Sports, especially 1927 and 1931 Churchman and 1928 Millhoff.

    I will scan the above cards once I get them back from PSA. I also have most of my vintage golf cards scanned and available under the Misc Sports catagory. Check out the scans to the 1928 Churchman Large set.
