What would these Goudey's grade?

Assuming there's no alteration or trimming, what would these two 1934 Goudey Roger Cramer's grade? Back is fine on both.

  • I would guess your Cramer #1 would pull a 5 all the rest look like 4's except for the fox card...that problem on the top front would probably knock it down to a 3. If you send them in let us know. And nice upgrade/add to your 33 Goudey registry you leaped over me quite a bit, you have some very nice cards!
  • Thanks for the compliments. I'm hoping to move up a few more spots if I get lucky in some of the upcoming big auctions.

I bought these raw cards thinking they'd be 5/6 range. Its kinda disappointing to here you say they'd be around 4s. In looking at these compared to my PSA 6s, they seem pretty good, maybe low end 6. But I may be missing something, usually I am when others disagree with me in grading and I am thinking of the higher end.

Is there anyway I can post bigger scans to make it the cards clearer? The ones I posted are very small, tough to see any detail.
  • It is tough to tell without seeing them first hand, you are doing the right thing comparing them to graded cards in your collection, I have found that strong eye appeal and very strong coloring (which some of these apprear to have) can bump the card a grade (or keep it from being lowered by one). Definately don't be discouraged by my comments, I would send them all in save the fox card and see what you get!
  • All should grade comfortably in the 4-6 range except for the Foxx which appears to have paper missing from the front.

overall, a nice batch... see what kind of fortune the purveyers at PSA bring... let us know how you make out.
  • nice to see the pics in your set registries!
Now looking for a 1950 Bowman Baseball Box as pictured below.
