It's a great piece - can't argue with the seller there.

Sylvestius, Emperor, Kuhli and I have been credited in the CC book as well (if I missed anyone, I'm sure I'll hear about it). Some of my coins are pictured in that book too.

My 1806 Halfpenny is pictured in that book and I helped gather price information for the author, but I was not listed in the credits.

I was not listed in the credits

I remember your contributions. I wondered why that was not the case?

    That IS a sweet coin.

Hyped up a bit, but I've seen a LOT worse. image

    In her auction she says:

"1942 this coin is almost one hundred years old , wow"

  • Hold on a minute, I know that eBay userID. It's Half Penny Jon from the Predecimal forum - and he charges for Paypal!

I wonder why he's selling this beauty. He's got quite a collection of gems if I recall.

He may still be allowed to surcharge for PayPal in the UK, but it's not allowed if the coin goes to a US buyer.

According to eBay if he lists it from eBay UK he can charge the surcharge but not if he lists it from US eBay. Since the auction is in GBP he listed it on the UK eBay and can do it.

Not quite. This is directly from the PayPal Q&A:
Q: I am a U.K. seller - can I ask a buyer in another country to pay an extra fee because they are using PayPal?

A: No, U.K. sellers are not permitted to add a surcharge if the buyer is outside the U.K.

  • I'd be tempted to buy it just to add that bit of provenance! image

Actually the seller was also credited in the CC book too!

I talked to him a while ago and he's got a few doubles, or he's upgrading some pieces.
  • He had me interested with just the pic, no words needed. image
