    bob = shilling. Mean Mr. Mustard had a ten bob note up his nose.
    quid = 1 pound
    thruppneebit = 3 pence (3d)
    tuppence = 2d
    nicker = half a pair of knickers or a quid
    fiver = five quid
    tenner = ten quid
    apenee = halfpenny; usually used with tuppence

    Except for "nicker" I heard all those terms growing up.

    Isn't that the type of pants you wore as a lad back in the 30s?

    You forgot "joey" and "tanner."

    Joey = groat, but then it meant silver 3d.
    Tanner = 6d.

    I have one for you. What does it mean to "spend a penny?"

    Definitely Malteasers! Anyone who has ever eaten one of those will never go back to the rubbish "Whoppers" we have in this country.

    The milk chocolate ones are one of the ultimate chocolate experiences available, as for the new white malteasers... well lets say they just don't do white chocolate as well as say Nestle. That's if i'm right in thinking that Malteasers are produced by the Mars company... you'd think i'd know i used to have two bagsful a day without fail.

    Other recommended things;

    'Reason's (not sure on the spelling, they are dark chocolate covered toffees per say)
    'Kinder eggs'
    'Twirls' are good if you like Flakes but you can't cope with the latter flaking all over the place!
    And Cadbury's chocolate eclairs are a winner, but they break your teeth... trust me on this! Oh so many fillings...
  • dont forget walnut whip.....
