SCD grading T206 cards

I believe Sports Collectors Digest no longer grades cards, but I am wondering if the cards they did grade can be considered reputable. I am looking at numerous T206 cards graded by SCD and an concerned that they may be fake/trimmed/recolored etc. Does anyone know anything about SCD and their reputation in grading T206 cards? Are my concerns justified? Thanks.

  • i think SCD should be considered reputable in the pre war market. If my memory serves me correct, SCD graded a lot of post war cards...not too many pre war cards (at least compared to SGC and PSA). Think of them as GAI today in the pre war market....although their presence is not strong, the cards they have graded should be trusted. My two cents.

I have always been happy with SCD cards and their crossover results. I thought they were accurate graders and unlike the other companies seemed to put an emphasis on centering on the front AND the back of the card. I would not hesitate to buy cards in their holders.
