Thought that this might be a good topic for discussion, as I am sure our fellow forumites have interesting stories to tell.
For me, I collected as a kid through college primarily from pocket change and sometimes via purchase from a coin shop. Then I dropped out of the hobby for almost 20 years. Got back into the hobby about 6.5 years ago. I now have some discretionary income to play with and have spent some of my time and money picking up various US, Greyside and Darkside pieces (mostly raw and a few slabbed coins) from various series.
I have recently looked at my collection (probably a more accurate term would be "collection/accumulation") and do not really like what I see (too much stuff, acquired over the years simply because I like the way the coin(s) look at the time I acquire and thus "I want it"). I think I have progressed in the hobby to the point where I need to stop being a "collectoraccumulator".
What have your experiences been as you engage in the hobby and mature from a newbie?Did you experience anything like I have experienced? If so, if you progressed beyond a "collectoraccumuator" what did you do from that point forward? Thanks in advance. SanctionII.
