Well I sent in some cards, for the first time ever, for the March Special. Here are the grades:

1 1990 UPPER DECK 66 JOSE CANSECO N/A 10
2 1990 UPPER DECK 73 ANDRE DAWSON CUBS CHECKLIST 10
3 1990 UPPER DECK 77 BOBBY ROSE N/A 9
4 1990 UPPER DECK 113 PAT BORDERS N/A 9
5 1990 UPPER DECK 127 GEORGE BELL N/A 9
6 1990 UPPER DECK 193 ROBERTO KELLY N/A 9
7 1990 UPPER DECK 563 RANDY JOHNSON N/A 10

I opened 2 boxes of 90 Upper Deck, tossed out all the off centered. Then I took the remaining lot and tossed out the dinged corners and the wrinkles. Then I was left with about 40-50 cards which I scanned for further review. Then I narrowed it down to these 7.

The Canseco, Dawson and Johnson were the ones I felt were the nicest... So I'm very pleased that those received a 10. The others were nice too but now I have a good understanding of just how good a card must be for a 10. It's also kind of funny how all the 10s ended up being on stars and the 9s were on relative no names.

Anyways, I know a lot of you hate modern but it's nice to know that I can grade! image

Congrats on the 10's. Not sure those 9's are worth much but cool about the 10's!

Try and get one of those intentional Ben McDonald error cards with the Orioles logo instead of the Rookie Star logo in a 10. That is actually a fairly hard to come by, and I don't think any have been graded by PSA. Did Upper Deck actually expect us to believe that they accidentally screwed up on the #1 draft pick's card and accidentally leaked a few out in packs, especially after the popularity of the Dale Murphy RevNeg in 89? Upper Deck has always disgusted me even though I love their original card designs. They'd still be selling 5000 ct. boxes of Griffey RCs out the back door if there was a market for them.
