Ths buyer is driving me crazy....

Ok the guy buys a certified autograph card from me. Certified on the back by ScoreBoard not one of the "buyback" stamped ones from Taiwan or anything, a legitimate card. Anyway he buys the card and the next day he wins a similar item for less from another seller. So he emails me a day later and says he thinks the card he won from me two days before may be fake. So I pay extra for insurance and delivery conf. just to make sure I cover myself incase he tries to say he did not recieve it. So anyways 31 days after the sale he emails me and says he used PSA/DNA and they said it was fake. I said ok then send me the card and the letter that explains why it was not slabed so I can make sure it was because of the signature and not because the card was altered, which he could have done after the sale. So he dosn't really answer me and goes on a "I want my money back you fraud liar, etc." rant. I again say just send me the documentation and I will issue a refund if the signature did not pass. So then he tells me it was a PSA/DNA quick opinion at a local mall and that "Mike" told him it was fake and it was only $10 so he has not letter or reciept. I explain to him what Quick Opinion is and that on-site is a min. $20 (I didn't say he was lying, just pointed out the flaws in his story). So he continues emailing demanding his money instantly be refunded. I keep telling him all he needs to do is show me any kind of proof of his story or of the auto not being real and I will take the appropriate action. Now he says he will file with PayPal and eBay, but he has nothing to complain about, I followed all rules to the letter and he has no case other than wanting money back for no reason. I think he will neg. me too. Anyone ever had any experience like this?

Let him file. As long as you've saved your emails and have reiterated several times that you were more than willing to provide a refund under the conditions you've mentioned (more than reasonable), I don't think you have anything to worry about except having to deal with the headache of going back and forth with e-Bay/PayPal.

I had a similar problem. I sold a 79 OPC Gretzky RC about 3 years ago. It was authentic but in shabby shape that I listed as EX-MT. I'd say maybe a PSA 5 or 6 at best. Had a large scan of the card with the booger on his shoulder and you can clearly see the centering and edge problems. A guy in Canada purchased it for $125 and paid with a money order. A month goes by and he emails me saying that the card is a fake because he took it to a show where KSA was grading and they said it was a fake and demanded a refund. I said fine, send back the card and I would send him back his money in full. He says no; for me to send his refund first then he would send back the card. I told him his proposition from la la land doesn't apply in the real world and no one would conduct business like that. If he bought something from an electronics store and it didn't work, would he call them up and demand his money back before returning the item? Of course not. After that email I sent to him, I didn't hear back for another 2 weeks and he sent another same type of email demanding his money back before returning the card because that is his proof and he would report me to the Canadian Mounties?? or some other police official. In the end, he never sent back the card and just negged me after 50+ days. He's NARU now. Do you think he was a scammer? image

I don't like it when buyers say "It doesn't look like PSA 7, can I have my money back?" I suspect it's usually because they found a better deal or decided to spend their money on something else. Rather than say "PSA graded it, not me," I think it's just less of a headache to refund -- assuming they send back the card intact.

I had a guy win a card on the first. He submits by paypal on the 2nd. By the fifth he is e-mailing me asking me what is
going on - why hasn't he gotten his card? I'm in NJ and he's in friggin Marquette MI (OT:secede already!).

Then I notice his five feedback. All positive but five.

Then I check paypal and it's an e-check and paypal warns me not to send the item until the echeck clears
on the 6th. I also pointed out how my auction said I only ship on Friday and he paid on a Saturday.

Happily when I pointed all this out to him he backed down.

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards
