And so my merc collection begins....

It's not much right now, only five coins. Everyone's got to start somewhere, though.

Yeah, but you got the best one, in decent shape even!

And a big YOU SUCK for snaring that 68FB before me and many others. image

Thank you so much for posting your start to the Winged Liberty dime series. I am working on a matched set in precisely the grade of your 16-D. It was especially good to see the grade which PCGS assigns to a specimen with full rims and partial fasces.

My first love is gem modern (1934-64) but I find it very relaxing to poke around in circulated territory too.

    Thanks again.

I know at least one good place too image. I'll probably take it slow on this set, though. Of coarse, if you know where any PCGS MS68FB's with really nice duel sided rainbows for sell for about $1200, I might have to dip into the savings. image

Man, me too. I have a little dansco set on the side that I'm working on. Just looking for F and better on that one through 1931. On the 34-45 section, I'd like them in as nice raw BU as I can find. I'm not looking to have a "in the money" set in those dates, but I would like for that page to have some flash.

I got it from Iras4 on ebay. I'm very pleased with it. What grade are you looking to get?

Thanks for the help. The one I have now is a PCGS VG-10 that I bought raw as a 8 when I was 15. Now that I can upgrade I've been looking. Take a look at The Tarheel Collection to see what coins I have.

If any interest you let me know.

    David,

Nice start! The Mercury dime collectors are very supportive here. I hope you have as much enjoyment putting your set together as I did building mine.

Sorry David, no such luck. I only have the MS66 and its not for sale. Did you check the list that Larry has for sale in the "Buy Sell Trade Coins?" He has a whole group of Mercury Dimes listed for sale.

    Thanks,

I know where a PCGS 65 and 66 is. I'd like to get one in FB, maybe a 62 or 63. I might drop for a 64 if I happen to have the money when one becomes availible.

Yah, Larry has some really sweet coins. I'd like to get the 21-PD and 19-S in as nice as I can afford. I'll then work on the pre-34's. I like toners, so if I can find a toner or two in the post 33 era, I'll see if I can get it. I wont be going for 68FB's, though. Just too out of my league.
