Why is the Experimental Rinse Sac$ given error status rather then variety status?
Most Sac collectors know about or actually have an Experimental Rinse coin. They all are essentially the same (it is not a random error like a clipped planchet). Also they have been written about since they were issued back in 2001 .(Experimental Rinse Info).
I was surprised that the "Speared Bison" would get variety status right away but the Experimental Rinse Sac$ has been labeled an error.
The error status is a problem for several reasons:
1) It costs a lot more to get graded.
2) The population report does not include them.
3) No chance that they will be included in the Sac$ set.

We're very leery about them. We feel it's possible to do a rinse job outside of the Mint. We'll talk about it some more the next time we get together.
Thanks,
