Does anyone know..

How long it takes paypal to resolve a dispute? I was sold a fake/reprinted card awhile back so Im just curious. I actually filed the dispute Febuary 25th. It gave me a time frame on the different steps and the last step, them reviewing the case, said it takes 11 days. That was over a month ago that they started that step in the case, so I'm kind of confused as to if I should email them or just keep waiting. Thanks for any advice image

  • I had one last year take about 180 days to resolve. A not recieved usually takes 10 days.

  • geesh, whats the point of them having a dispute system (especially one with a specific amount of time listed) if it takes half a year to do it. Sigh, thanks for the info though, appriciated.

They hope you forget about it and go away.
  • I had a dispute for a 110.00 dollar card. Not recieved and payed for insurance. I won the dispute but never got payed back. Paypal's excuse was that there was no funds to draw from ?? I thought you had to have a credit card on file ? Anyways, they said his account was frozen and could not use it until he made payment back to me. Well 2 years later and still nothing. Guess he just opened another paypal account or just doesn't use paypal anymore.

If you paid by credit card do a Charge Back.
  • this is why I ALWAYS only pay via credit card. reputable credit card companines should protect you. Luckily I have never had a problem using paypal yet.

That's why I never even PAY for any of my auctions in the first place.
  • I've only had one dispute in my years of dealing with PayPal. It took about 60 days to resolve and for the most part went smoothly. The seller didn't send the merchandise I had paid for and offered a refund that he never sent. About a month after I got my refund from Paypal I got a bankruptcy letter from the sellers attorney. The transaction amount was only $240 but I think this seller had been ripping off a lot of other buyers too.
