New 1960's common special

Does anyone know why the 1970 and 1971 sets are always snubbed when it comes to the grading specials? Why would they run a 1972 to 1990 special in March and then a 1960's special in April - without accounting for collectors who have 1970 and 1971 cards to grade? I have over 100 1971 Topps football that I want to send in - which should nearly finalize my set. Any comments would be appreciated.

Preaching to the choir. I got impatient waiting on my 71s and just sent in a bunch under the $6.00 bulk level. I would have most likely sent in more if it were dropped down to the $5.00 level.

Funny you should mention this. I sent an email into PSA. I'd hope they would extend the 60s special to include those years since they fall under the same submission category.

The bulk specials are usually a pretty good deal. The price is right and rarely do they take the full 45 days..in fact my last submission was graded in about 7 days...the service was just as good as the $12 level (of course I had submitted 3 separate order levels under the same cover including the 5-day and last month's registry special, which may speed the process) .

gemint - I would appreciate if you could let me know what customer service's response was to your e-mail. I called today and they stressed that the special is for 60's ONLY.

What's the definitive answer on the definition of a "common"?

Thank god for this special heh. I'm going for the 1960 Topps set and have around 40 ungraded NM's laying around.

Agree with the request for 1970 and 1971! Have 100+ just waiting for submission.
