It is highly underrated for scarcity - but I wouldn't call it rare. All 1934s were artificially darkened at the mint that year for a reason that eludes me. The effect of this toning meant little hording of the date and thus choice/gem UNCs are rather hard to come by. The only mitigating factor is that coins of this date do not wear as significantly as those dated 1926 and prior. Spink prices them at £45 in UNC. The wybrit estimate is anywhere between £30 to £60.

Is this really a tough coin?
