Photos added...

I just spent a few hours adding photos to 3 of my sets. I had some sizing issues but I think I worked everything out. Please use this link 71 Topps to take a gander. I'm not sure if I'm seeing them because they are on my computer or if I actually did it right for once! Miraculously the link works too.

Anyway I took a look around the registry today and noticed that there aren't that many sets with photos. Then I noticed that the guys who did have photos actually represented their cards in three different ways.

1.) Full scan of slab with cert. #
2.) Full scan of slab with cert. # erased
3.) Cropped image of card without the flip visible

What do you think is the best way to show your collection? Is image theft that wide spread that we should conceal our cert. #'s? I scanned my slabs complete and didn't alter the #'s as that's the way I like to view them. But I'd like to get everyones input on this.

Maybe pasteing the current population over the cert. # would be an idea?

Whaddya think? Bob

You did it right and it looks good. I just want pictures of the cards it doesn't matter to me if the flip is there or not.

Great pics and those are nice looking cards. I don't think I've ever seen a 71 T Hockey card.

As far as your question about the flip...I usually take the cert number out of the scan, just in case someone out there might try to use the pic as a scam on ebay or elsewhere.

Very nice cards... I would remove the cert # it is very easy and doesnt take away from the picture if done right. I couldnt decide on how to present my pictures either. I was going to just crop out the card, and decide on full slab with grade and no cert#. Good luck

Ok, meale and copper both chose to remove the cert. #'s.

Want to share how you did this? Paint shop? Photo editor?

    Thanks, Bob

There should be an eraser tool on the scanner software. After you crop it just erase the number thats how I do it.

  • Great looking scans!

I hope to add scans to some of my hockey sets later this spring or summer. I'm glad you asked the "certidicate number or not" question as I was wondering the same thing as I prepare to scan cards.

Keep up the good work and HOCKEY RULES!

    Jim,

Funny you should mention the Kurtenbach. I caught myself admiring it when I was scanning the cards. It really is a great card from a great looking set. It's cards like this that keep my heart in the late 60's early 70's era.
