There's a couple Aaron rookies on eBay right now that match your criteria. The centering isn't that great on the PSA 5 and PSA 6, but within parameters for the grade. I take it you're seeking one for less than the going rate?
The third one is an obviously-trimmed PRO 7.5, which someone is going to be very sorry they bought. Why would someone take a perfectly good EX Aaron rookie and trim it up to get a higher PRO grade? Despite what some hapless newbie is about to pay, it is now worth considerably less than before it underwent surgery.
Jr-I saw those Aaron rookies on ebay,I was thinking of possibly bidding.Do you think the psa 5's centering detracts too much from the overall appeal? I know you have a very nicely centered 6 I saw on the registry I'm having a hard time finding a well centered copy.

Simply put greed. It's unfortunate that honest people who are new to the hobby and think they are buying a sure thing because the card is indeed graded are in fact wasting there money on an altered card. What's worse then the crooks altering these cards for pure profit is the grading companies enscapsulating these cards full knowing they have been altered and some poor sap just threw away a large chunk of change on a seemingly now worthless card.
Centered Aaron rookies in any grade draw 1954 collectors and rookie collectors like moths to a flashlight. Centering and print defects are the two most common problems -- along with razor-happy scammers.
Jake, it depends how important the centering is to you. You can get a nice 5 or 6 for your set for a decent price if overlook the common centering issues. Or hold out and pay a premium. Some cards absorb less-than-ideal centering pretty well (such as the Koufax rookie), while Hank's card makes it painfully obvious.
Jr-I always seem to end up paying smr or more for my cards I guess I give in to buying what evers available at the time instead of holding out for nicer examples for the grade.I paid smr or more on all of the cards so far in my post war rookie set and alot of them are not centered well,Example my Mick rookie in psa 5, it more then likley is a 7 o/c but I still ended up paying $3000 for it,which now that I think about it is probably the norm.Non the less I enjoy my cards and there imperfections just not the hole they put in my wallet.
i had an aaron rookie up for sale on ebay a week ago. Sold for $750 (Not bad considering i bought it for that price....so, i lost out on 10-20 dollars due to paypal and ebay fees). I saw a PSA 6 Aaron rookie up for sale by Kruk cards...centered very well. was going to bid on it, but i knew it would reach $1,000 and my limit on that card was $850.
Ive been monitoring the sale of Aaron PSA 6's since October. There were quite a few for sale in Oct-Nov. A very well centered one sold for $200 below SMR (this was 1 week after I bought mine...). But, from January through March...there have been fewer Aaron PSA 6's for sale...and the ones that do go for sale are about $50-$100 more pricier than they were 3 months ago.
The one up on the bay right now is already at $600....and the centering is bad and the scan is small. My card reached $600 within 3 days.
In other words, dont jump the gun. Wait to till you get a good deal...
