<< <i>Aren't they somewhat like the US 1909-S VDB cents? >>
You are correct, wise teacher.
<< <i>Are the Gothic Crowns overpriced compared to rarity? Aren't they somewhat like the US 1909-S VDB cents? That is, readily available but expensive considering how many were minted. Any thoughts on this? >>
That's what I'm beginning to understand about these... My numismatic friend from Sweden was visiting for a couple weeks with his wife and he sat here for a half hour deep breathing while he viewed the two I own. He, like I, both feel the PR64 has more eye appeal than the PR66.
Uh, Mac, I might be convinced to sell the 64 for $4K? heh heh

I presently don't have any liteside earlier that 1879 and didn't pay near as much. Could get one or two CC Morgans for the asking price of the crown.

Well, geez, man... you're looking at Gothic crowns! One of the grandaddies of popular Darkside coins!
Cacheman- go ahead and show off a little. I promise not to throw tomatoes. It'll be a pleasant break from all the Goetz stuff.

Nooo, not really. LordM rarely badmouths anyone.
But that damn Gothic crown is just so beautiful-show it!

No way I would touch an uncertified Gothic Crown. I've seen too many raw ones with hairlines, including harshly cleaned ones.
Now that 64 cache has, that's a beaut!!

Pocket change! OK, make it $5555 for the 64 and the 66.
