Newbie on the board

Hello all,
I am currently working on the Carew Master Set. I am ranked # 3 (#29) presently. I will be joining the PSA Platinum club this next week.
I will be sending in over the next several month's the rest of the master set for grading to pretty much complete it.
May's submission will cover 1968 thru 1981 that i currently don't have on the master list, included will be a very nice 68' Venezuela # 80 (could psa 6) and all of the OPC including several that are not listed.
I hope to be in the # 1 spot by end of summer. Carew4me and Larry Alfaro won't make it easy.

    That Red Barn is going to be the hardest to come across. I haven't seen one for sale on ebay or at a National show the last 4 years going. And believe me, i am on ebay daily!!

    Welcome Marc! Please post a scan of the Venezuelan when you get it back. I'd like to see it.

    Just noticed that the 68 Venezuelan Carew has a grade weight of 1. Seems a bit low (here we go again).

    Just like the Bench problem. People adding to the Master set with no clue on how weighting works!

    Marc, Glad to see you made it and good luck on the Carew Master. I am working on the basic set currently #3, behind the above mentioned duo. I can't bring myself to get into the master set because of all the disc and stickers that have have no need to chase. Maybe one day i will change my mind. Until then good luck and turn your PM on so we dont have to bore the rest of the crowd with all our Carew talk. Dave

    Hi Bob,
    I can't figure PSA'S weighting not only on the Venezuala cards, btu the OPC'S as well. This subject has been beaten to death on the OPC.
    How can a card with 90% less production than their counterpart Topps not be worth more and have a higher weight value. The 68' #80
    Carew will more than likely 5 because of the corners ( and i am a realist on PSA grading), but i would like to see it come back a 6. The 77' Venezuelan sticker could 6 or 7.
    I found a connection that has plenty of the Venezuelan cards, but very few on the Carew end.
    My scanner is down right now, but once i get a new one in between buying and grading cards i will post a scan once it is graded. I might be able to get a buddy of mine scan it up from in it's ingraded form.
