Question about Chipper Jones card

Hi guys-

I usually hang out in the coin forum so I hope I am not intruding. I have a question about a Chipper Jones card that my son pulled out of a pack of Fleer National Pasttime.

It is an authentic Game worn Jersey Grand Old Gamers card.

I looked it up on ebay and I found this one:

Not my sons card-so please don't flame

It looks identical to this one except the patch is all white.

My question is where is the serial number? In the auction this guy states that it is number 1/1 but I don't see it on his card or my sons card.

Any help would be appreciated. And you guys are waaaaayyyyyy too knowledgeable about cards. image

Its the same card. The 1/1 is the lastest and greatest way to get a few extra dollars on sales. I would be willing to bet if you emailed the seller to question his 1/1, he would state the colors on the jersey patch makes it so. I will add the 4 color patch would probably get more than plain white. JMO hope it helps

the "1/1" designation is on the back, left side of the card, just above the red line..

Okay, I see it now in the auction. Geez, I must be blind. My sons card doesn't have that on it. Is the one in the auction numbered because of the color? Thanks for the help.

yeah, the one in the auction is a "jersey patch" card, whereas your sons is a more common "jersey" card.. alot of people place more value on a patch or multi-color jersey..

  • Oh my I did not know about the "jersey" and "jersey patch" thing. I can see why a piece of the patch would be more attractive, but jeez.

Hope your son enjoys the card no matter what part of the jersey it came from, that's the most important part.

Next thing, after bases and socks, which already exist -

"Authentic stained arm pit swatch with scratch and sniff patch."

Wasn't it here that I saw a game used jersey card that had the tag of a jersey and gave washing machine instructions? Seems like I saw that on a Moss jersey on this site. So the arm pit stain isn't far off.
