  • come over to the OF
  • LCM - IMHO, there's only two factors: 1) TPG's; and 2) ebay.

These are the two reasons I got back into collecting after many years. The TPG's (PCGS, NGC, & ANACS) gave me confidence to buy without worrying about paying too much for an overgraded coin and/or buying a fake rareity and ebay gave me a bigger market than I could ever find locally.

Don't forget the US Mint. With all the different designs on the quaters and nickels lately
Members I have done business with:
Silverman68, jfoot13, GAB, ricman, Smittys, scrapman1077, RyGuy, Connecticoin, Meltdown, VikingDude, Peaceman, Patches and more.
  • If I only had to pick one thing. I would say the internet. It has single handedly opened the doors of coin shops and dealers inventories to the world. Also it opened the doors to the grading companies and increased collectors and deales knowledge.image

The poor stock market has added to the "collector" base, although I would more properly classify those people as the "I word" (I can't even bring myself to type the "I word" in the same sentence as "collector").

  • Don't forget digital cameras! Just think what these boards would be like without them!
